Is 360 Security Legit?

When you’re browsing the web or downloading files 360 security will be there to ensure that nothing harmful lurks. It can block access to unsafe websites, examine the history of your browser, keep track of how much data you use and even track down the phone you’ve lost.

The suite also includes a firewall, a shredder for data and scheduled tools for cleaning your system. It is able to automatically update drivers with anti-tracking tools and even gives you privileged tech support by a single click.

The interface of the software is simple and easy to use, even though there are many options and settings. The majority of the settings are controlled via a large switch or button, or checkmark. This is great from a ergonomic standpoint. The software is free and accessible for both Windows and Mac.

The antivirus does a decent job of protecting your PC from malware. Its real-time detection can detect more than 95% of malware and didn’t cause any false positives in my tests. It doesn’t offer the same level of detection that the leading products do in terms of file scanning and heuristics.

360 Total Security offers a variety of additional security and maintenance functions that include the VPN, which is only available in the premium version. Its heuristic engine can detect malware by looking at the program’s behavior. This can be quite useful particularly if the threat is new and does not have a signature yet. The program has a cleanup’ utility as well as other tune-up tools that can enhance PC performance.
